KOMUNITAS BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS (KBBI) AN EFFORT TO INCREASE TOURISM POTENTIAL AS A PREPARATION FOR NEW YOGYAKARTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The construction process of New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) at Glagah, Jangkaran, Palihan, Kebonrejo, and Sindutan Village, Temon, Kulon Progo is on a quick progress, including the physical construction which is targeted to be finished in 2019 (taken from http://liputan6.com). Unfortunately, the business oportunity of the villages around the airport area which are not effected by the eviction and revitalization of the airport, such as Temon Wetan Village is not really noticed by the stakeholders, whereas the number of young human resources is relatively high and among the various kinds of training held by The Ministry of Manpower have not developed yet that is English skill training. Whereas, English is an international language which will be used as the main language to communicate by the people around the international airport and it will require relatively long periods and process to master. KBBI is expected that young generations will be more aware with English since the early age and it later will equip them in communicating with foreigners who will be using New Yogyakarta International Airport services. KBBI is an English learning program in cooperation with the members of Karang Taruna Kalmon, Komunitas Bule Mengajar volunteers, and the researchers which is held for eight meetings. The targets of this forum are the members of Karang Taruna Kalmon by the level of primary and seondary school equiped with basic English skill so that later they will share their knowledge of English to the children of elementary level in Temon Wetan Village.
