Abstract

Cultural character education has decreased, this can be seen from the low understanding and interest of elementary school students in learning Indonesian culture. Based on research conducted by researchers at SDN Triharjo, it was found that cultural character education has not been carried out optimally, especially in class 4. This is in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, material related to culture. One reason is that cultural education is still lacking, there is no innovation to create a character of cultural love. The purpose of this study was to develop audio-based POP UP culture media as a planting of cultural character for grade 4 elementary schools. The research method used was research and development with the development model of ADDIE Nada Aldoobie (2015). The model consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 28 4th grade students at Triharjo Elementary School. Research begins with the data analysis stage with data collection techniques. Followed by designing media equipped with a light sensor to turn on audio. This media can instill cultural character. This media can also be used in accordance with student learning styles, namely visual, audio and kinesthetic. The next step is validation, with the results of 97% media validation and 83.07% material validation. Next is the implementation with a result of an increase of 44.754% related to understanding culture. Evaluation of this research is that there is a need to expand.
