Abstract

The production of coconut oil produces a by-product (blondo) that is not used by producers anymore. From around 1900 coconuts, they are produced 190 liters of coconut oil and 3 kg of blondo as by product. In blondo, it still has quite a lot of coconut oil. Blondo is one of the sources of vegetable protein which also used in protein synthesis in human body, especially at the skin tissue. The protein content is useful as a nutrient supply that functions to moisturize while coating the surface of the skin to make it more smooth and supple. These problems provide an idea for researchers to use blondo as a skin health product, which is used as an ingredient to make a natural soap derived from environmentally friendly and safe ingredients that are also good for skin health. The fatty acids produced from blondo and alkali in the form of NaOH with antibacterial additives derived from patikan kebo (Euphorbhia Hirta) are expected to be solid soap formulations. With the cold process method it takes two to four weeks to pass the saponification process so that solid soap is produced that is ready to use. In this study, the most optimum soap formulated with soap which has antibacterial properties derived from the content of patikan kebo extract was 2%.
