ANALISIS SIFAT KIMIA PADA BEBERAPA JENIS TANAH DI KABUPATEN KARANGANYAR

Abstract
Population growth has driven growing food demand. The increased of food demand needs to be supported by optimal soil capability. The soil properties include physical, chemical, and biological characteristics are critical for supporting the growth plants. Chemical properties of soil can be the one of all important indicators for knowing the level of land productivity. The study of chemical properties are conducted in Karanganyar and used several soil properties as Andisol, Vertisol, Alfisol and Entisol. This study aimed to determine the various chemical characteristics of the soil. By knowing the type of soil that is in a certain area, it can be done preliminary treatment to provide nutrients and the right conditions for the soil before it is used as a medium for growing plants. The paramaters of soils such as soil moisture, soil pH, the lime equivalent to soil, cation exchange capacity (CEC), base saturatuion, H-dd and Al-dd, and C-organic levels. The study uses purposive sampling method at depths of 0-30 cm. This method is used to know the special characteristics of each soil types and their representative scores. This method research analysis suggests that the chemical properties of certain soil types in Karanganyar are different. Andisol is a soil with a high pH of NaF (11.94). Vertisol has a high level of lime equivalent (8.8) and CEC. In Alfisol has a low-level CEC (0.11) and also Entisol soil with a very low organic content (0.1%).
