PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISME 4 (EM4) TERHADAP PRODUKSI BIOGAS DARI LIMBAH KOTORAN SAPI DENGAN TEKNOLOGI BIODIGESTER

Abstract

World energy supply nowadays are rely on the fossil fuel. Further, This thing can lead the fossil fuel to become extinct someday and the alternative energy such as biogas would be needed to replace it. Biogas generated from the fermentation of organic substances using anaerobic bacteria without an oxygen. The purpose of this study is to find out the production of biogas from the waste of the water and cow dung. The cow dung was obtained from the Pondok Rangon ranch for 5 kg. The Parameter that used for this study are gas pressure, inner temperature, room temperature and how long the flame can lights up. The results of the production of the biogas for 2 weeks without EM4 is 0,175 kg/cm2 with the optimal temperature for the forming of the gas is 33,1 oC. The flame was obtained and shown with the color of red flame. On the other hand, the results of the production of the gas which mix with EM-4 liquid is 0,275 kg/cm2 with optimum temperature for the forming of the gas is 36,2 oC. The result of this gas is producing a blue color for the flame. According to (Mijiyono et al, 2021) basically EM4 is a liquid medium containing microorganisms that can decompose polymer compounds into monomer compounds. EM4 affects the fermentation process which in turn will affect the speed of biogas formation. Therefore, the trial that added EM4 made the biogas process faster.
