Abstract
Pancasila and Citizenship Education (Pancasila and Citizenship Education) or Civics is one of the compulsory subjects from the most basic level of education to higher education. The presence of Civics subjects is often a phenomenon of students becoming bored or bored when studying Civics in class. This is because Civics subjects are only limited to studying material from rigid textbooks or rigid literacy. Seeing this phenomenon, this study aims to analyze the urgency of the Pitung Generation application development, describe the Pitung Generation application design, and the Pitung Generation application implementation. Researchers innovate in designing the Pitung Generation application that functions as a Civics learning medium to improve Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity (4C) for Junior High School (SMP) students in studying Civics subjects during the pandemic and post-Covid- 19 pandemic. The legal basis that the researcher uses in conducting this research is Article 37 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, and Law Number 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education. This research method uses the (R&D) method, namely conducting research on the urgency of developing the Pitung Generation application and then developing the Pitung Generation application. The research subjects were junior high school students in Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The selection of research subjects using purposive sampling technique, and data collection using observation techniques, questionnaires and literature literacy studies. The data analysis used is quantitative analysis with a collaborative approach with trials using the Sign Test analysis technique.
