Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the larvicide effect, effectiveness, and the toxicity of papaya seed extract with a combination of apple vinegar on the mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The method used in this study was an experiment with an independent variable in the form of a concentration of papaya seed extract with apple vinegar and a dependent variable in the form of a percentage of death of Aedes aegypti larvae. Extraction alkaloids and saponins of papaya seeds using the maceration method. The data analysis technique used is Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) as well as LT50 and LC50 analysis. The results of this study include papaya seed extract with a combination of apple vinegar can be used and as effectively used as larvicide of Aedes aegypti because it has an LT50 value of 5.31 hours and a low LC50 value, which at a concentration of 29.4% the mortality of larvae is 50% of the test material. Based on ANOVA analysis, papaya seed extract with a combination of apple vinegar has an influence on Aedes aegypti larvae so that it is toxic to Aedes aegypti larvae.
