Abstract

Educating children at an early age is a good time to provide multicultural education through appropriate play patterns for ages 5-6 years. Introducing multicultural education to children should follow the flow of technological developments balanced with the use of multicultural learning so that children are more interested in learning it. However, currently there is no active multicultural educational media for kindergarten children that utilize technology so that they are more interested in learning about multicultural culture. Therefore, it is necessary to develop active multicultural learning educational media in the form of coloring media that can also stimulate children's cognitive and motor aspects and keep abreast of the flow of technological developments. This study aims to develop a Coloring Book Based on Tri Hita Karana Philosophy with Qr code technology for kindergarten children as an educational medium for multicultural learning and assess the acceptability of the media. This research is a formative study with qualitative design. The study samples were kindergarten children, parents and teachers in selected kindergartens in Singaraja City, Bali. The implementation of the research is carried out in 2 stages. The first stage is basic data collection with observation, group interviews and in-depth interviews with kindergarten teachers. Based on these basic data, then the preparation of multicultural learning materials and coloring book design was carried out. The second stage is the assessment of acceptability and application of educational media by observing the use of educational media when providing material by kindergarten teachers in class, and the use of coloring book media Qrcode by children participating in kindergarten with parents. In addition, group interviews were also conducted to see teacher responses to educational media through this coloring book, and group interviews of kindergarten participants and parents to find out qualitative changes in multicultural knowledge. The multicultural knowledge of kindergarten participants became better after providing educational materials with coloring books. In addition, this media acts as an interesting teaching material that stimulates children's interest. Coloring books can be used as educational media to increase children's multicultural learning knowledge by coloring pictures
